Educational and Professional background

Beth graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore in 2011 with a Master’s degree in Social Work. There, they concentrated in clinical social work, with a subspecialty in Mental Health. They worked for the Arc Baltimore as a treatment foster care social worker until late 2012. Beth accepted a social work position at the Trauma Disorders Program at Sheppard Pratt, which informed the trajectory of their career and passion for supporting trauma survivors in recovery.

In 2017, Beth transitioned to a therapist role within the program. They’ve completed numerous trainings pertinent to the evidence-based treatment of trauma related disorders, including level I clinical hypnosis training through ASCH. Beth has sought additional training to improve their cultural humility and address the impact of oppressive systems on clients’ functioning.

Since branching out into private practice in 2020, Beth has worked with a broad range of presenting clinical issues, finding that they are well suited for working with neurodivergent individuals. Themes typically explored in therapy include grief, interpersonal communication, stress reduction and burnout prevention, and social justice as it pertains to the clients’ challenges and resources.
